Bring Back "Renegade" at Heinz Field
We want to bring back the song "Renegade " by Styx as a song played at Heinz Field to pump up the defense.
Why is this important?
We feel that the song "Renegade" by Styx has a history with the Pittsburgh Steelers like no other song before it. The opening a capella prelude acts as the ominous warning to the opposition, letting it know that trouble was on the horizon. Steelers' Marketing man Mike Marchinski started by playing it during games when the stadium opened. Within the last few years, it has become inexplicably connected to the Defense. Anytime the song is played on the defensive side, it brings with it a successful stop of the offense. Notably, in a Pittsburgh-Dallas game in December of 2008 Troy Polamalu notched an interception return for a touchdown. Sept. 7 of 2014 was the first time it was not played, and the defense was uninspired, and it nearly cost the game. We feel that "Renegade" should be brought back....ASAP!
