Bring Google Fiber to Massachusetts
We are trying to bring Google Fiber to Massachusetts to encourage competition in the broadband internet and cable television market. As a home to a large number of colleges and universities, we believe that access to the best in broadband internet will not only keep those students on the cutting edge, but Google's provision of affordable access options will allow all who reside in the state of Massachusetts to have internet access.
Why is this important?
We firmly believe that access to broadband internet opens doors for individuals to be able to realize their full potential. For those with broadband access, the option to upgrade to a higher connection speed will allow for greater innovation, evidenced by cities with current Google Fiber installs. For those without broadband access, the option to acquire it at a low cost enables individuals to enhance their lives in ways such as providing students with access to online resources and connecting individuals in rural areas with the rest of the outside world.
