Bring Michelle Carter Boulevard to Red Oak, TX
Change the name of State Highway 342, beginning at U.S. Highway 77 and ending at Ovilla Road, from it's current name Central Boulevard to Michelle Carter Boulevard.
Why is this important?
Dear Mayor Stanfill and the City Council,
I am writing to petition for Central Boulevard, which runs from US Highway 77 to Ovilla Road, to be renamed after former Red Oak alum Michelle Carter.
Central Boulevard, along with the city, has seen tremendous growth in recent years and is currently the location of Red Oak High School.
Carter is an excellent candidate for having the road named after her because she exemplifies what it means to be a champion, both on and off the field.
Growing up in Red Oak, TX, it's hard not to think of Olympic Gold medalist, World Champion, NCAA National Champion, seven-time All-American, and four-time UIL State Champion Michelle Carter, especially during the Olympics.
Michelle's achievements are not only part of Olympic, NCAA, and Texas history, but they also form a part of Red Oak's history. It's time we recognize this by naming Central Boulevard after her.
