Bring SB 562 to the floor of the Assembly!
We, the undersigned, call on Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon to bring Senate Bill 562, California's single payer healthcare bill, to the Assembly floor.
Why is this important?
Senate Bill 562, the Healthy California Act, has been passed by the State Senate. This is an opportunity for us to bring healthcare access to all Californians, and to be a proving ground for a national Medicare-for-all-style single payer healthcare system.
But Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon has shelved the bill, preventing it from reaching the Assembly floor for a vote - or even to allow discussion of possible amendments to address whatever concerns Speaker Rendon or other Assembly Members may have about the bill.
We demand that Speaker Rendon bring SB 562 to the Assembly floor.
