Whereas there is prima facie evidence that George W. Bush, Vice President Richard Cheney and Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld conceived of, planned and then ordered U. S. personnel to commit torture of persons suspected of supporting or being "enemy combatants" we ask this court to bring appropriate war crimes charges against each of them and to find the United States in violation of the Geneva Conventions.
Why is this important?
There is no disputing the fact that the U.S. conducted water-boarding on suspected members of al Queda. Bush admitted on TV that he authorized it. Yet this is just a well-known example of the kinds of war crimes ordered by the highest levels of our executive branch. We let these few blacken our countries reputation for fairness and morality when we turn a blind eye to their war crimes.
