The proposal to base F-35 jet fighters at Burlington International Airport will not have any devastating impact on the surrounding communities or the people who live in them, as is documented in the Air Force's own Environmental Impact Statement. The Air National Guard also provides the air port services in the tune of $5 million a year on runway services/repairs. They have also been great tenants and provide great service to the state of Vermont.
Being award the F-35 is a great honor and shows that the hard work and dedication by the unit has been noticed.
On Monday, October 7th, the Burlington City Council will be voting on a resolution, forced on them by the opposition, to try to bar the F-35 from basing at BIAP.
Please sign the petition urging city councilors to NOT support the resolution.
