California: Raise the minimum wage!

When I was a boy, I was proud of the perception that California led the nation in progressive policies and in nearly every measure of cultural and economic health and vigor: commerce, education, infrastructure, and growth, to name a few. I don't even recognize the state we live in now. Crucial areas of our society bear little resemblance to the leader of my youth: tax policy, business regulation and incentive, educatioal priorities, and, for the first time in our history, labor flight! The regressive labor policies and givebacks, along with anti-union propaganda, have seen California's population growth to stagnate to the point that growth due to childbirth barely offset the losses due to emigration out of state! The vital first step in reversing this disastrous trend is to return to wage leadership . Workers who can earn a living wage, under decent working conditions, DON'T LEAVE! Since consumer spending drives growth, we must put dollars in the hands of our workers. Now is the time!

Why is this important?

It's time to reclaim our primacy in the country and the world. A thriving working class is the backbone of a healthy economy. The is a necessary first step. Act now!
