To: The United States House of Representatives and The United States Senate
Call Congress. Ask for Action on Climate Change
This petition is actually a request that you call your Congressman about climate change and ask for Action Now.
Democratic senators intend to occupy the Senate floor from Monday, 3/10, night at 10 P.M. ET through Tuesday morning at 9 A.M., taking turns speaking to urge action on climate change.
I am not really concerned about petition signatures but I wish every member of MoveOn that reads this would call their Republican or Democratic member of Congress and ask nicely that they also support action on Climate Change. Don't omit the deniers.
Ideally, ask your Representative to "Put a Price on Carbon Pollution". They'll know what you're talking about. Pricing carbon goes by many names, but most often it is known as a carbon fee and dividend plan or a carbon tax.
Great if you can make a call this weekend or Monday, but anytime in March will mean a lot. Thanks

Why is this important?
Climate change is the greatest threat we face and the time we have when we can effectively deal with is short, the U.N. panel gives us about 15 years. The solution favored by economists is a market based solution that gradually raises the price of fossil fuels until green energy replaces it completely. Scientist say we can do this in 20 years with current technology but we need to start yesterday. For more info on solution on solution options try; the Carbon Tax Center, the Brookings Institution or Citizens Climate Lobby.
