To: Governor Tim Walz
Call on Governor Dayton to name Al Franken to fill the remaining period of his vacated Senate seat.
Because Senator Al Franken has not been accused or found guilty of using a position of power to enact any violent, coercive, or intimidating behaviors that constitute criminal behavior, Governor Dayton should apply discernment during this politically inflamed period and name Al Franken to fill the remainder of his duly elected Senate seat through the remainder of the elected period. At the end of that period, voters can rightfully decide his fate. Hopefully this will allow the public to gain perspective on the differences among sexual behavior, sexual harassment, sexual assault and rape, and apply appropriate consequences to distinguishable behaviors.
Why is this important?
To reverse a poorly conceived and executed decision to accept Al Franken’s resignation amidst a politically charged atmosphere that wrongfully failed to protect an elected official ‘s right to due process including the protection against wrongfully defined accusations.
