CALM...SANITY...UNITY....
DEAR PUBLIC SERVANTS, CARING LEADERS and KIND OTHERS.....
Now is the TIME FOR ALL OF GOOD FAITH and DEDICATION to insure a better future for us and our descendants. I see most of us running scared, whether on one side of the aisle or another. Never, in many decades in this great country, have I felt so unsteady and distressed by the dissension and enmity amongst us....regardless of who we support or oppose. There are many who appear satisfied with our current paths but I sense a tone of limited confidence and, of course , opponents are most distressed. If one has ever paddled a canoe with another, it is clear how progress is discounted without a measure of teamwork.
So, how do we comb out our differences enough to move in a progressive direction? I am no historian but believe there are ample examples within our history of times when we held our noses and agreed to work together for shared purposes.
Will you commit to meditate upon that model of unity rather than planning attacks on perceived opponents? I am not suggesting we all chant kumbaya, but trust we can find more reasons to collaborate than to rend asunder. I hope future generations will never study a course of "The Decline and Fall of the United States Empire" as we studied about the Romans or other great societies which sunk into unredeemable error. We do not have to always like each other in order to right our ship. We should be able to respect ourselves enough to protect the great value entrusted to us by our forebearers.
