Campaign Limits
We, the undersigned, hereby demand that the Congress of the United States of America pass a constitutional amendment that limits both the time and the amount of money any candidate, individual or corporation can spend on a campaign for any Federal Office. We propose that no person or corporation may campaign on behalf of a candidate for Federal office for more than six months prior to a primary for said office and then for no more than six months prior to a general election. We further propose that no more more than 10 million dollars be spent by any one candidate and his or her PACs in a primary campaign and no more than 50 million dollars for the general election. Any proven violation will disqualify a candidate from continuing in said campaign and will disqualify said candidate from holding that specific office in that election year.
Why is this important?
The American people were appalled and outraged over the amount of time and money spent during the 2012 presidential election. The billions of dollars could be put to much better use somewhere, somehow in these United States.
