Please cancel the event with Dr. Ben Carson on September 11. He is a rightwing political candidate and a public institution is not allowed to support political campaigns.
Why is this important?
1. VSU is using 501c3 money in possible violation of IRS rules re: political campaigns
2. Ben Carson is not credentialed in Economics, which is the stated subject of his speech
3. Ben Carson has made numerous inflammatory statements which may contribute to a community safety issue at VSU, notably saying Michael Brown's mother did not teach him to respect authority and praising Cliven Bundy and anti-government militia when they pointed their guns at law enforcement
