Cap Parking Tickets at $35

Parking tickets are a regressive form of taxation that targets the most poor and vulnerable people and ruins lives. The city of Oakland must cap parking tickets at $35 and develop a new and equitable system for parking enforcement.

Why is this important?

When $100 can make or break you, parking tickets can set off a series of events that completely destroy your life. I've seen vulnerable people forced into even more extreme vulnerability by Oakland's exploitative parking enforcement system.
