The amount of money being spent on getting elected is gotten completely out of hand. Caps on campaign spending should be made which would allow ANY American equal opportunity for being elected to any public office.
Why is this important?
The only people who stand a chance at even being considered for public office are people who have money or are "connected" in a way that money is abundantly available for costs associated with campaigning.
