Resolution to amend Citizens United–request to Carson City Board of Supervisors.
We are calling on the Carson City Board of Supervisors to pass the following resolution:
WHEREAS City Councils, Boards of Supervisors, and other forms of local government have an ethical obligation to address significant national issues that have important impact on their constituents;
RESOLVED, the people of Carson City, Nevada, stand with communities across the nation to defend democracy from the corrupting effects of undue corporate power by amending the United States Constitution to establish that:
1. Only human beings, not corporations, are endowed with constitutional rights and
2. Money is not speech, and therefore regulating political contributions and spending is not equivalent to limiting political speech.

Why is this important?
Over 300 cities and six states have adopted resolutions to have Citizens United repealed. The people of Carson City, Nevada want to stand with these communities in defending democracy from the corrupting effects of undue corporate power.
