CCO Transparency & Accountabilitiy
We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge our leaders to act now to ensure accountability & transparency from all Coordinated Care Organizations (CCOs) in our state by supporting legislation such as SB 412 & HB 2133, as well as taking other actions to make sure these entities operate according the basic principles of open government. This may include requiring CCOs and their Community Advisory Councils (CAC) to operate according to Oregon Public Meetings and Records Act (ORS 192), but at a minimum, it requires: making CCO board and CAC membership known, public meetings, and disclosure of minutes.
Why is this important?
Coordinated Care Organizations (CCO) were created by the Oregon legislature to provide better services at reduced cost for those on Medicaid (Oregon Health Plan), however these CCO can be private for profit companies that have little accountability to the local community and are not being required to have public meetings or records of what they are planning regarding the health care of our most vulnerable citizens.
