Challenge to Members of U. S. Congress: Join the Fight Against Government Corruption

Dear Members of the U. S. Congress;

We, the undersigned, understand that some of you felt you had no choice but to campaign within our current rigged election system. The American people are tired of that kind of behavior and we demand change. The 2016 U. S. Presidential election is where we are taking our stand. The popularity of Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump illustrates this. Now is the time for us all, citizens and politicians alike, from both sides of the aisle and everywhere in between, to stand up and say that enough is enough. It is imperative that we act now!

If you are against moneyed interests having influence over our government, and their best interests being put before the best interest of the American people, won’t you follow the example set by U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders in his run for the Democratic Party nomination?

We urge you to refuse and denounce corporate and special interest donations and to discontinue your association with PACs. Please support a modernized publicly funded election process. If you choose not to stand up against this corruption which is destroying our nation please, at least, have enough respect for the American public to explain why.

Thank you for your time. I hope you will have the courage to do the right thing and stand up for your constituents who are against government corruption at all levels. You should do it for the good of our country. If you won’t, please be warned, we will know who you are and we won’t vote for you again.

Why is this important?

This issue should concern all Americans. Getting moneyed interests out of our election process is the only way that we will ever be able to have fair elections. When elections are bought, it hurts everyone except those who bought them and those who sold them. We must fight back.
