Charge Backpage CEO Carl Ferrer With Enabling Human Trafficking and Money Laudering

Tell Backpage.com to stop helping child sex traffickers.

The website Backpage.com is doing the unthinkable—they are earning money from photo advertisements posted by pimps and traffickers that sell underage girls for sex.

In fact, Backpage.com is believed to be the largest seller nationwide of online prostitution ads involving children. This includes children as young as 13 years old.

Despite the cash it brings them, Backpage.com claims they have no responsibility for the ad content or the horrors these victims experience when they are sold for sex.

The Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, chaired by Ohio Republican U.S. Sen. Rob Portman, slammed Backpage last month in January with a report and hearing in which the site's owners and executives were accused of abetting human trafficking. The report, based on 1.1 million Backpage documents obtained under subpoena, said Backpage removed words such as ""Lolita," "rape," "little girl" and "Amber Alert" from ads -- and also coached advertisers not to use them -- while knowing the resulting ads were still in service of pimps and prostitution rings exploiting and abusing girls.

Why is this important?
