Charlie Dent: Take Money out of Politics and Support Voters' Rights
Recently, 100 members of Congress supported Democracy Spring's initiative to get money out of politics and restore voters' rights. Let's ask Pennsylvania Rep. Charlie Dent to add his support for these issues.
Why is this important?
We are tired of gridlock in Congress and the fact that our elected officials' views often do not reflect the will of the people they represent. We have seen terrible voter suppression occur in the 2016 presidential primary and feel powerless against it. We need legislation to address these issues. Democracy Spring is asking the House of Representatives to vote on the following bills:
• The Voter Empowerment Act (H.R. 12)
• The Government By the People Act (H.R. 20)
• The Democracy for All Amendment (H.J.Res. 22)
• The Automatic Voter Registration Act (H.R. 2694)
• The Voting Rights Advancement Act of 2015 (H.R. 2867)
Representative Sarbanes of Maryland responded in support of Democracy Spring by signing this letter to the chairmen of the Committee on House Administration and the House Judiciary Committee: http://sarbanes.house.gov/sites/sarbanes.house.gov/files/FINAL_DemocracyHearing_MillerGoodlatte_04.21.16.pdf
