Clean Up Utah's Air Now!
Governor Herbert should follow the advice of the more than 60 physicans who requested that he declare a public health emergency in Salt Lake and surrounding counties due to our prolonged inversion. This includes recognizing and starting a public debate about the pros and cons of natural gas as a viable alternative, making TRAX free during winter months to promote public transport, and requiring Kennecott and other major polluters to reduce their emissions. We need more stringent regulations and quicker action.
Why is this important?
I care about the quality of life here in Utah and the health of my children. The time has come. We're jeopardizing our future by not acting now.
