Close our Primaries to enable a fair process
Currently in Texas we have a semi open primary. Anyone can vote in either primary. The only restriction is that after voting in one party's primary you can not vote in the other party's run off.
People are voting in the other party's primary to choose a weaker candidate for their candidate to run against. This undermines the democratic process. Please sign this petition to tell our legislators we want a closed primary.
Why is this important?
One party should not be able to vote in the other party's primary. The primary is for the purpose of choosing your party's candidate. It is not so you can choose a weak candidate for your party to run against. If you aren't a member of that party you shouldn't have a vote.
