Closing of Lanier High School / Merging Sidney Lanier with GW Carver High
This Petition will will be signed by people that are of voting age that live in Montgomery County that do not agree with the proposal of combining the two schools. We are willing to take a stand for OUR kids.
Why is this important?
I would like to express my great concerns in reference to the information I received stating the possibility of Sidney Lanier School Closing/Merging with GW Carver. I would be a shame and a disgrace if this board allows this to happen. We would like to keep Sidney Lanier High for our students as it is, with some much needed improvement for the benefit of having a community based school and also because of its Historical Background.
Combining the schools will cause overcrowding of GW Carver, which is not benefical to the education of the students of both schools.
If the teachers and students, that are of age to vote, are allowed to sign this petition, please foward it to them also.
