Commissioner Velez, I am asking that you intervene to insure that D.D.D. does not disallow placement in Sheltered Workshops or other programs which offer commensurate wages to program participants. Please save my child's program.
Why is this important?
My daughter, who is deaf and has MS, has worked at O.T.C. since 1996 as part of the Sheltered Workshop program. The Division of Developmental Disabilities is planning to eliminate funding for this program in the fall of 2013.
