To: Scott McGee, Chairperson - Mashpee Public Schools
Community Petition to Terminate Brian Hyde
We, the undersigned former students of Brian Hyde and residents of Mashpee, are demanding the immediate termination of superintendent of schools Brian Hyde. Brian Hyde fails to meet the criteria to serve in this role on the following grounds:
1.) Unbeknownst to many in Mashpee, Brian Hyde has displayed unprofessional behavior throughout his career by selectively bullying students and parents. Many students and parents have been subject to his unjust treatment and we will no longer remain silent.
2.) The public record shows that Brian Hyde willingly made false statements to the press in an attempt to protect his job. A review of Cape Cod Times articles since the incident at the King family home was first reported shows that he made false statements which include his claim that the Mashpee Public School system has a set policy on home visits and his assertion during press inquiries that he is enrolled as a Ph.D. candidate at Grand Canyon University working on his dissertation with plans to graduate in Spring 2016*. Brian Hyde has been exposed as lying on the public record. As a public official paid by tax dollars, he has violated the trust of the Mashpee community.
3.) Brian Hyde has long been protected by cronyism, and as the elected body representing our interests, it is the Mashpee School Committee's duty to hear our voices. Despite Hyde's "winning" personality he has pursued a "losing" strategy to turn around the school system by engaging in hostile, unprofessional acts as depicted by the King family incident. Furthermore, Hyde’s impact on improving the school district is unproven. This past spring, under Hyde’s “leadership”, Mashpee High School 10th graders had the lowest MCAS scores of all Cape Cod school districts.
As we begin 2016, we look to the Mashpee School Committee to do the right thing and terminate Brian Hyde so that students in Mashpee Public Schools can benefit from the leadership they deserve.

Why is this important?
As former students and concerned citizens of Mashpee we stand united and demand that the Mashpee School Committee take immediate action to terminate Brian Hyde. The public record has proven that Brian Hyde is unfit to serve in his current role as superintendent.
