Many "over 55" housing facilities in Florida, including resident-owned mobile home parks and condos, have pet restrictions that were created mainly with dogs in mind. Seniors who have one or two indoor cats should be exempt from these restrictions, as having a feline companion is highly beneficial for them.
Why is this important?
My husband and I are over 55 and have been researching future housing options for ourselves, but we are not willing to give up our pets. Our cats are part of our family and should not be discriminated against.
