Compensation of Congressional Officials
An Amendment to the Constitution of the United States is hereby proposed to shift all forms of compensation (salary, health care, pensions, etc.) of all elected Congressional officials to each of their respective states. Each state will determine, by a vote of the people of that state, how their respective Senators and Representatives are to be compensated for their service.
There is a clear conflict of interest in allowing Congressional officials, specifically Senators and Representatives, to determine their own compensation. This Amendment will remove that conflict, and may make each elected official more responsive to the needs and desires of his or her constituents.

Why is this important?
Given that Senators and Representatives are acting on behalf of their state, it should be up to each state to determine the compensation of their representatives.
This petition seeks an Amendment to the US Constitution to shift control of the compensation (including pensions and health care) to the States and the residents of each state.
