Congress and the President: COMPROMISE. My peeps (the liberals) are going to have to propose/accept budget cuts in some areas, including the arts. This hurts, but we need responsibility. Republicans are going to have to accept higher taxes on the wealthy and no salary limit for social security deductions. The time is now.
Why is this important?
Massive, indiscriminate across-the-board cuts will hurt us all - not just the poor, but farmers, retirees, military personnel... everyone. Combine that will tax increases for the middle class and you have a disaster. Posturing and grandstanding aren't solutions; budget compromise is.
