Concerned About Exposure To Toxic Chemicals?
The weak and outdated Toxic Substances Control Act does next to nothing to keep Americans safe from toxic chemicals. Since it was passed more than three decades ago, about 80,000 chemicals were approved for use in everyday products and very few have been tested for human health safety, even when they are linked to reproductive disorders, learning disabilities, diabetes and cancer. This must stop! We need a strong effective law at the federal level to protect our health.
REAL Reform must protect the public and take into consideration the particular health needs of pregnant women, workers, children and overburdened communities. The bill before the Senate, the Chemical Safety Improvement Act (S.1009)--as drafted--DOES NOT have my support.
To win my support for reform, a bill to reform TSCA must authorize EPA to move swiftly to protect Americans from exposure to dangerous toxic chemicals.
Thank you!

Why is this important?
The weak and outdated Toxic Substances Control Act does next to nothing to keep you and I safe from toxic chemicals.
In fact, the scary truth is that there are about 80,000 chemicals approved for use in everyday products and very few have been tested to see if they are harmful. Many are linked to reproductive disorders, learning disabilities, diabetes, and cancer. That’s a whole plethora of chemicals that Americans are exposed to on a daily basis!
We need you to call on your senators to make sure that reform of our toxic chemical laws is substantive and real. Chemical reform must protect pregnant women, workers, children and overburdened communities, and the Chemical Safety Improvement Act (S. 1009)—as drafted—does NOT pass the test.
