To: Sen. Dan Sullivan (AK-2)
Condemnation of Senator Dan Sullivan
Voting "yes" on all three attempts to repeal the Affordable Care Act, when they had been proven to un-insure 16-30 million Americans AND increase costs for the rest, is NOT acceptable. In fact, it violates one of the four reasons given by the Constitution as to why America was created: the general welfare.
Voting "yes" after receiving a threatening and coercive call from Director Zinke over Senator Murkowski's "no" vote is NOT acceptable. You did not stand with the senior senator under threats of coercion.
We, your constituents and fellow citizens, condemn you for these failures.
We also direct you to move forward with a commitment to serving people over party. This was our expectation when you were elected, and we insist you fulfill this sacred duty.

Why is this important?
Republican efforts to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act have not been in good faith. The CBO scores for each bill are dismal and would result in significant losses of insurance, increased costs in premiums and deductibles, and the removal of certain insurance coverages. Senator Dan Sullivan voted in step with his party, clearly putting party over the right thing to do.
Following Sen. Lisa Murkowski's "no" vote on attempt 2, Pres. Trump allegedly directed Interior Secretary Zinke to call both Sullivan and Murkowski to threaten Alaskan interests if their vote on the "skinny" repeal was not a "no". This is coercion, and is being investigated.
