Congess and the states: amend the Constitution to remove money from politics

We petition both houses of Congress, as well as the legislatures of all of the States, to pass the following amendment to the US Constitution:

“Nothing in the First Amendment to the Constitution shall prohibit the Congress from making laws restricting expenditures to procure the dissemination of political discourse, save that no such restrictions shall apply to natural persons, and provided that any such restrictions shall be non-discriminatory as to political affiliation, and impartial as to the object of the discourse to which they apply"

Why is this important?

The Supreme Court has made clear in such decisions as Citizens United and Buckley v Valeo that the First Amendment to the Constitution prevents Congress from restricting the rights of individuals and organizations, including corporations, to finance political campaigns and issue advocacy. Therefore the only way to eliminate the influence of money on American politics is to pass a new amendment to the Constitution.
