Congregational Meeting to Resolve Rev. Susan's Separation Package

Title: Congregational Meeting to Resolve Rev. Susan’s Separation Package
We are seeking signatures for a congregational meeting to vote on a process for resolving Rev. Susan Newman Moore’s separation package from All Souls Church. Notice for the meeting will not be sent until 10% of church membership has affirmed the call for the meeting and the church has verified the signatures. We strongly encourage all members of All Souls Church in good standing (have signed the book and made a financial contribution of record within the last 15 months) to sign and share this petition as soon as possible. The petition is worded below.
Petition:
The following members of All Souls Church call for a Congregational Meeting. The business to be transacted is:
1. Vote to appoint a special committee of three Congregants. This committee will have the authority to enter into a separation agreement with Rev. Susan Newman Moore and church authorities.

2. If the vote for the committee is affirmed, the congregation will discuss and provide instructions and/or recommendations to the committee regarding a separation agreement with Rev. Moore.

1 The meeting will be held pursuant to Article VI, Section 2 of the bylaws.
2 Church authorities include authority to:
○ resolve all claims of Rev. Moore against the Church and any person affiliated with the Church;
○ to release any claim of the Church against Rev. Moore;
○ to retain counsel, and to file or defend any action on behalf of the Church in which the Church and Rev. Moore are each a party;
○ to file and resolve insurance claims related to Rev. Moore;
○ to authorize payments to Rev. Moore;
○ and any other authority necessary to enter a final separation agreement with Rev. Moore.

Why is this important?
