In 1928, Congress instituted socialized medicine, but only for itself, when, by congressional resolution, the Office of the Attending Physician of the United States Congress was created, whereby members receive medical services which they do not individually pay for, other than a flat annual fee (which has not increased since 1992). Since Congress is absolutely unwilling to even consider discussing single payer health care for the rest of the country, they should live by their own philosophy and abolish the Office of the Attending Physician of The United States Congress.
