Congress: Fix the fiscal cliff before you go on vacation
As your constituents from all over the United States, we demand that you continue working until you provide tax relief for the 98% of the population, making less than $250,000 who will see their tax bill rise by an average of $2000. Going over the fiscal cliff without relief for this group of citizens will likely send us back into recession. Do your job and delay your vacation until it is resolved. No tax break=no vacation!
Why is this important?
Congress is scheduled to work 10 days in December before they go on vacation lasting until the new year, possibly not resolving the fiscal cliff. This is after they had a lengthy recess for the election cycle, and then another for Thanksgiving. We should demand they stay at their jobs until they pass a tax break for the 98% who are not making over $250,000/year ( $200,000 for single filer). This Congress is distinctive for being among the least productive in history. We must tell them, loud and clear, that we won't stand for it. In President Obama's words, "it's like a lump of coal for Christmas. It's a Scrooge Christmas." No tax break= no vacation.
