We call on members of the House of Representatives and the Senate to initiate an investigation of this serious accusation of voter fraud and to take prompt and serious action no matter the findings. If unfounded, the President must be censured for misuse of the power of his office by labeling unsubstantiated claims as fact and undermining trust in our Democratic process.
Why is this important?
President Trump has, as a candidate and more recently as President, made statements of fact that cannot be substantiated or, in some cases, are proven false. There is bipartisan support for the lack of evidence for the President's claims of large scale voter fraud. With this claim, he has taken a much larger step that challenges and potentially undermines the very foundation of our democracy.
