Congress pay to Represent the People
The annual income for each Congressperson shall be equal to the median income of the people living in the area they represent. Housing shall be supplied for all members of Congress and their families in Washinton DC of the same sort provided to senior (0-7) officers in the Military stationed in the area. All other compensation, to them and their immediate family, shall be limited, during their term in office, to no more than 50% of the income they are paid to represent the people of their area. maximum income to them and their immediate family shall not exceed 150% of the median income of their district. All income in excess of this level shall be directed to the federal government and earmarked for interest on the National debt or, in the event the National debt is zero, equally divided between Medicare Payments and Social Security.
Why is this important?
I am tired of those who make over 10X the income I make telling me that it is time for me to tighten my belt while they continue to loosen theirs. We need to make the Congress represent the people again by making them live like we do!
