Congress: Stop Trump’s war crimes—no more boat strikes, no war with Venezuela!

Trump has the U.S. on the brink of war with Venezuela.

Since September, the Trump administration has killed at least 87 people in the Caribbean in 22 military strikes. The administration claims they are fighting drug cartels, but they’ve provided zero public evidence that any of these boats carried narcotics or that anyone on board had cartel ties. No trials. No charges. No proof. No congressional oversight.

Trump's administration isn't just acting without congressional approval—they're committing war crimes. The Washington Post revealed Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth ordered a second strike to kill survivors clinging to wreckage from the first boat attack, a clear violation of the Geneva Conventions and international law.

Now, Trump is looking to expand these attacks, threatening a land invasion or airstrikes within Venezuelan territory. The U.S. has over 15,000 military personnel deployed in the region and recently escalated the situation even further by seizing an oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela.

Congress must rein in these unconstitutional military strikes and stop Trump from sending us to war with Venezuela!

Why is this important?

No president should have unchecked power to kill without evidence, trials, or congressional oversight. This administration has labeled these 87 victims “unlawful combatants" to justify killing them without trial. If this was actually about combating drug traffickers, the Trump administration would be arresting and prosecuting them—not killing civilians in international waters.

Trump has openly admitted that he is trying to force a regime change in Venezuela; these strikes are just his opening move. Seventy percent of Americans oppose military action in Venezuela. We do not want another violent, senseless war!

Some members of Congress have introduced a war powers resolution aimed at preventing continued strikes and potential land invasions without congressional approval, but it’s now been voted down twice. We need to show Congress that we are paying attention and demand they act.

Sign the petition to tell Congress: Stop Trump’s war crimes, stop these illegal strikes, and stop Trump from sending us to war with Venezuela!
