We urge Congress to exercise its constitutional power in removing the Supreme Court's jurisdiction over election finance. We urge Congress to pass election laws prohibiting the donation of large and unaccounted eorporate money to political campaigns.
Why is this important?
The Supreme Court has taken a hard turn in favor of the 1% being able to buy elections. The Congress can override this trend, in favor of real democracy, and return power to the 99% at the ballot box.
This power of Congress is already in the Constitution.
A constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United is not needed.
