Our senators and representatives are paid enough (much more than most Americans are presently living on) that they should not be given free health care or free cars or free gasoline. If they had to pay for these items as their constituents do then perhaps they would be more sensitive to the people they are supposed to represent.
Why is this important?
This petition is about the large differences between our state and US senators and congressmen and the people they are supposed to represent. They should have to pay for their own health insurance and they need to pay for their own cars and gasoline. They certainly get enough money from their salaries that are paid by the rest of us.
