Members of Congress who believe the conditions for the thousands of children interned at our borders is a human rights atrocity should camp out and not return to Washington until there is significant movement toward safe conditions and reunification with their families. In addition, every Democratic candidate running for President should also join this vigil and move off the campaign trail in the name of justice and humanitarian principle.
Why is this important?
We cannot as United States citizens not hold our representatives responsible for this appalling inhumanity. We are all responsible because we elected these members to Congress; we must hold them accountable.
