Congress Should Spend Time at Home

The members of Congress should have an office in their home district or state where they spend most their time and are more accessible to their constituents. In the internet age they don't need to travel to DC to do their voting and other business.

Why is this important?

In this age of the internet, online conferencing and telecommuting, why does Congress still need to meet in Washington, D.C.? The members should have an office in their home district or state where they spend their time and are more accessible to their constituents. They would be more in tune with the needs of the people they were elected to represent and save money in travel and housing expenses. Lobbyists would have to travel to the districts instead of having Congress as a captive audience in Washington, D.C.
