Statements made by Congress are subject to challenge by opposing parties and when challenged must be supported by factual evidence. If the factual evidence is not acceptable the opposing party may present their evidence for rebuttal.
Why is this important?
Today, elected officials repeat for political indoctrination purposes statements that are often unproven or untrue. For example, lowering of taxes on high bracket taxpayers create jobs. It is disrespectful to the public for leaders of our country to misrepresent facts so blatantly and without remorse or recourse.
