Congressional Members Pledge to the People

Realize your pledge to your constituents to do the people's work and refute any person who would ask that you sign a pledge to do, or not do anything that might cause you to compromise your efforts on behalf of the very people who voted you into office in the first place. Outlaw all pledges to Grover Norquist or any other individual who seeks to have control over your vote. Please realize that your job is to work for the constituents who voted for you.

Why is this important?

Why is it that our elected Congressmen and women and Senators feel that they should sign a pledge to a non-elected leader of a lobbying group? Isn't it time they realized that their pledge is to do the people's business - NOT Grover Norquist's?
