Congressional Perks and the National Debt
Stop the automatic pay raises our elected representartives vote into law for themselves. Roll their salaries back to the year they actually did their job and passed a budget on time. They should get only the same cost of living increase we get.
Stop the "free" ride they get in healrh care coverage for themselves, and their families, for life which is supplemented by tax dollars. They need to pay the full cost of their health care like the rest of us. They can afford it.
Stop the "chef" prepared, discounted meals they get in their private cafeteria. That cost is supplemented by taxpayers dollars, They can afford to pay the full cost of their meals like the rest of us.
Stop complimentary congressional parking and the free, private mini-train ride they get from their designated parking spot to trheir office which is also paid for with tax dollars. They can afford to pay for their own parking like the rest of us do.
If they fail to pass a budget by the end of the fiscal year, they don't go home unril they do their jobs. Also, they get the same number of paid holidays, paid vacation days, and paid sick dsys we do. They must work a 40 hour week. They go home on their own time not on the taxpayers dollar.
Since tThey won't jusrt rreform themselves, we must demand it.

Why is this important?
Isn't it time our Congressional reepresentatives make some personal sacrifices toward reducing the nartional debt and balancing the budget?
