CONGRESSIONAL TERM LIMITS

Whereas, our forefathers never intended elected officials to make a career out of being a politician, and

Whereas, we believe 12 years is long enough for anyone to put forth their ideas and test them before the rest of congress, and their constituents, and

Whereas, new ideas are essential for growth, and

Whereas, most American's do not get a lavish pension after only working 12 years, and our elected officials can, as a last resort, collect Social Security, just like we have to, and

Whereas, our elected officials can put some of their salary in a retirement plan during their tenure,

We petition that all elected Congressional Officials be allowed to run for only two consecutive terms of 6 years each, and will not receive a pension upon leaving office.

Why is this important?

Establishing (2) 6 year term limits on all elected members of congress. Continue to pay them their current 172,000.00 salary, but do not give them a pension at the end of their term.
