To: Rep. Kevin McCarthy (CA-23)

Congressman Kevin McCarthy, A Key Vote for Immigration Reform

The majority of Californians and the American public support fair and just immigration reform with a path to citizenship. For this proposal to succeed, it has to be as inclusive and accessible as possible. I urge you to enact immigration reform that includes:

• Keeping families together, including giving adult children of all ages and the siblings of U.S. citizens a chance to reunite with loved ones.

• Providing an accelerated process for people to obtain residency status.

• Ensuring that civil and human rights will be upheld.

The 113th Congress has the opportunity to be remembered for their bipartisan action towards reforming our nation's broken immigration system. Californians call upon you to use your leadership, as House majority whip, to gather the votes needed to pass fair and just immigration reform at this moment in history.

Why is this important?

Congressman Kevin McCarthy's vote to defund Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) was a major disappointment to me and other constituents of the Central Valley. These students want nothing more than to contribute as productive citizens to the country they call home. His vote proposes to deprive the world of the contributions these young people could make in the future.

¡Sí Se Puede!
