We the undersigned do hereby urgently request that no members of Congress sign any agreement or pledge that would hinder them from doing the necessary and proper work of the Senate or House of Representatives of which they are duly elected members.
Why is this important?
Last year a great many Republicans signed Grover Norquist's pledge not to raise taxes. Their action prevented most legislation of consequence from being accomplished for an entire year. We need a wise Congress with no political entanglements keeping them from doing the important work of the nation.
