A constitutional amendment should be passed by Congress and submitted to the states for ratification restricting the benefits provided to all government employees and Congressional representatives and their staffs to those benefits publicly available to all Americans. They must pay into Social Security and Medicare and cannot give themselves any greater benefits than those programs allow to everyone else.
Why is this important?
We need a constitutional amendment restricting benefits of all Congressional and government employees to those publicly available to all Americans (such as Social Security and Medicare). They should not be able to give themselves better benefits than they give the rest of us.
