Court Administrators should allow poor and unemployed folks the ability to satisfy their fines through community service(s) work and not contract out payment of fines to private companies.
Why is this important?
Balancing the budget on the back of the poor is unfair and bad public policy. If people are allowed to satisfy their fines through community service, their licenses will not be suspended and/or would not be thrown in jail. It's important that people that do not have the means to satisfy their fines be given the opportunity to satisfy that debt through other means such as community service which many of these counties need during this austere economic times.
