Require a use tax on assault weapons, a bi-annual licensing renewal including proficiency demonstration, a limit on ammunition and a ban on extended clips. Any special societal adaptations that are necessary to accommodate gun owners, will be borne by gun owners with special assessments or increased taxes on their weapons.
Why is this important?
There are too many guns now to take away, but that doesn't mean we can't tax assault weapons, require bi-annual licensing and proficiency tests, control the amount of ammunition that can be sold or accumulated.
