Anyone convicted of committing a crime while in a gang should be tried for domestic terrorism, for he/she thrives by inducing fear and terror in his/her community. This would be an additional charge on top of the person's initial charge(s), hopefully carrying an additional sentence of maybe 10 or 20 years. This goes for street gangs (Bloods, Crips, Gangsta Disciples, MS-13, etc.), hate groups (KKK, Ayran Nation, etc.), motorcycle gangs (Hells Angels, Outlaws, Mongols, etc.) and even organized crime syndicates (Italian mafia, Russian mafia, Chinese mafia, etc.).
Why is this important?
Gangs, from street gangs to motorcycle gangs to hate groups and the mafia, terrorize our communities through intimidation and force. They are just like terrorists and should be treated as such.
